Paws July Vet Skills Photos

Moby was happy to help out today as one of our animal ambassadors.
He was joined by Rupert, the hedgehog, and Ivy, the leopard tortoise.

Dr. Thomas taught students about Rupert's special hedgehog characteristics.

Rupert making friends with students.

Students had the opportunity to bathe Rupert and learn about
how to correctly care for a hedgehog.

Rupert cruised around the hospital with the help of students keeping him out of danger.
Many exotic animals need just as much exercise as our dogs or cats but need a safe place in which to do it.

Students were able to hold and feed Ivy and learned how to care for a tortoise. Ivy is about 4 years old and weighed in at a whole 1.5 pounds!

Moby received lots of attention as Dr. Riehl taught the students how to listen to a dog's heart.

Students were able to take turns learning how to use a stethoscope and listen to Moby's heart.

Students were able to take x-rays of stuffed animals with foreign objects in them, after performing a physical exam to see if they could figure it out on their own.

Another successful PAWS workshop! Thank you to all of our awesome students!
