Dr. Caitlin Sacco was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Niagara University while also playing Division 1 lacrosse. Since the age of five, Dr. Sacco knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian and was able to fulfill that dream while attending St. George’s University on the tropical Caribbean island of Grenada. She attended her clinical year of veterinary school at Auburn University, AL. After receiving her doctorate degree, she partook in a rigorous, year-long, small animal internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas in Raleigh, NC. Following her internship, Dr. Sacco worked in a busy general and emergency practice in Georgia. After moving to San Diego in 2019, Dr. Sacco served as the chief veterinarian of a small animal hospital in Vista (or we can say North County) before becoming the owner and medical director of Advanced Veterinary Care of San Elijo.

Dr. Sacco believes that building lifelong bonds with her pet patients and owners as well as practicing gold standard medicine is the foundation to successful veterinary medicine. She also values the importance of owner education, so they can feel confident in the medical care their pets receive.

Outside of work, Dr. Sacco spends time with her husband and two young daughters exploring the beach, local parks, and visiting the Safari Park more times than she can count!
